The ISO is an impartial third party responsible for maintaining secure and economic operation of an open access transmission system on a regional basis. This independent body provides availability and transmission pricing services to all users of the transmission grid.

      The Open Access Same Time Information System(OASIS) is a standardized Internet-based communication system used for purchasing and scheduling electrical energy transmission and related services established by FERC Order 889 and 889A. All wholesale transmission transactions must be conducted on OASIS. Most sites require user registration.
