Solid Waste and Recycling

CURRENT Overview

Ø      Over 400+ million tons of municipal, commercial and industrial waste is generated in the United States today.

Ø      Solid waste management generates about $30+ billion dollars per year in annual revenues.

Ø      Today most businesses rely solely on professional solid waste management companies (hauling, landfill and incinerator operators) to determine the best level of equipment and service needed for their particular operation. Little attention is given to the actual costs, service options, or how these monthly charges are computed.

Ø      Technological advances in solid waste equipment and services for reducing costs go unnoticed by the majority of businesses today.

Ø      Unlike utility and telephone services, there are currently few government-regulated tariffs or service rates for the solid waste industry.

Ø      In most cases service companies can charge whatever they want for their service without any restrictions.

Ø      Because of this:

LET THE BUYER BEWARE!

PROBLEM:       Solid waste service companies charge "whatever the market will bear", and have very little economic incentive to check for possible billing errors and reducing a customer's waste volume because these can affect their overall revenue and profitability!

SOLUTION:       Having an in-depth knowledge and “insider” information on how the solid waste industry operates, Gibson Consulting Group can provide our Clients control and reduce costs in this area, both now, and in the future.

OUR TOTAL PROGRAM!

To expand our Solid Waste & Recycling Auditing Services, Gibson Consulting Group has developed a complete SOLID WASTE & RECYCLING SERVICES AUDIT WASTE-SERV MANAGEMENT PROGRAMThis comprehensive two part program goes far beyond the basic auditing program for our Client’s by providing ongoing management and control of all solid waste & recycling services expenditures both now and for the future!

HERE'S HOW OUR TWO PART PROGRAM WORKS!

Part 1:  Basic Solid Waste & Recycling Services Audit

Gibson Consulting Group will initially conduct an in-depth analysis of current and past solid waste and recycling charges at all Client locations.  To begin our analysis, we request solid waste and recycling bills for the previous 12 months, as well as all current service agreements.  Based upon the equipment present at the specific Client location, a container or compactor usage survey is completed including a density analysis.  If necessary, a comprehensive “waste stream” analysis is completed for each Client location.

Your bills are then analyzed for discrepancies and overcharges related to incorrect rates and billing procedures. Current and alternative service programs are also evaluated.  Assuming that after our analysis, we find you are entitled to a refund or credit, we negotiate with the current service provider on your behalf providing all support documentation as needed.  We will go back as far as the Statute of Limitations allows.

Gibson Consulting Group keeps you fully apprised of our audit activities, and before we have any contact with the service provider(s), we strategize with you.  Working in a professional, courteous and non-adversarial manner at all times, Gibson Consulting Group presents the facts to recover overcharges (Your Dollars $$$) which we can support with factual and fair documentation.

As part of our detailed Final Audit Report, we present recommendations to you regarding future cost saving opportunities in the solid waste and recycling areas for your company.  Following approval of our recommendations, we assist with their full implementation. Gibson Consulting Group works on a performance fee basis when providing the basic solid waste/services audit for our Clients.  Our fee is based upon a percentage of the amount recovered for you, whether it is in the form of a cash refund, credit to your account, or future cost savings that is realized by your company for a 24 month period following the full implementation of all approved recommendations.  A minimal one-time processing fee is due prior to the start of our Basic Audit and is based upon the size and/or complexity of the Client's accounts. This initial fee covers only a minimal portion of the administrative costs incurred by Gibson Consulting Group in the completion of the total project for our Client.  We also believe that payment of this fee reflects a Client's commitment and vested interest in the overall success of the total project.

If other programs go even this far, this is where they traditionally stop.

Comprehensive monthly reports are provided following the implementation of the WASTE-SERV Management Program.  The monthly fees payable to Gibson Consulting Group are based upon the level of service/scope of work provided by our firm related to the management services options requested by the Client. There is a 24-month minimum contract required for our firm to provide the WASTE-SERV Management Program that is separate from the contract covering the Basic Solid Waste & Recycling Services Audit.
